Before Fieldwire
Before adopting Fieldwire, TSI Corporations needed tech, and needed it fast. They were about to kick off a high-profile redevelopment project, but they'd been relying on various unconnected means to plan and manage their work — not efficient for the 14th biggest glazing and curtain walls firm on ENR’s Top Contractors list.
Having completed more than 600 projects in the greater DC and Baltimore areas, communicating and coordinating with old-school methods meant that an unnecessarily large amount of time was spent chasing down information and managing tradespeople’s tasks.
As Russell prepared to kick off his next project — the redevelopment of an eleven-story office building into a new mixed-use residential and retail destination in DC’s up-and-coming Buzzard Point neighborhood — he purchased Fieldwire licenses for himself and his team.
With Fieldwire
On Day 1, Russell did a site walkthrough of the project at 1900 Half Street SW in preparation for a punch window installation. When he got back to his office, Russell discovered that, by using Fieldwire on-site to log notes and create tasks, he’d already saved three hours — and that amounted to hundreds of dollars.
Since that first day on-site, Russell has realized additional value as he expanded Fieldwire’s use to include communications between site and office as well as between office and manufacturing plant. “We’re also a materials fabricator,” Russell says. “Project management is necessary for all of the communication between field and plant and between office and plant. Fieldwire allows us to streamline this process to get materials to the site in a timely fashion.”
